The Inspiration Behind Andrewman Ministries.

Mike, who was inspired by God and his superhero and grandson, Andrew Petrea, founded Andrewman Ministries on March 24, 2008. Andrew loves superheroes and his grandfather, Mike, is amazed at how much of a superhero Andrew has been throughout his ongoing illness.

On September 16, 2006, at the age of 3, Andrew Petrea was diagnosed with an Ependymoma brain tumor. After his diagnosis Andrew had 2 major brain surgeries, 2 different kinds of radiation, and chemotherapy. In August of 2007, Andrew had a MRI that showed that the tumor had come back and spread in his brain as well as his spine. He has since been on several different kinds of chemotherapy and additional radiation to his spine.

Since his diagnosis, Andrew has played a season of T-Ball as well as gone through first grade, and will start second grade in the fall. Throughout his illness Andrew has shown that he is unwilling to let his condition bring him down and keep him from being as normal as possible. It is because of this that Andrew is our superhero and an inspiration to us all.

The carwash was a huge success!!!! We raised $800.00 in 5 hours, WOW!!! Thank you to everyone that helped, we really appreciate it. 

Andrewman got a call from the social worker at Medical City Hospital, she had a boy from Nigeria who is here for treatment on a visa, he was ready to leave the hospital but needed funding for his medicine. Since he was on a visa no one would help him, we were blessed to be able to help him.

We also helped another family in Plano with their light bill.

We plan to do a garage sale in the Rowlett area, after the weather cools down. any help with that would greatly be appreciated . I will keep you updated on that.

We also plan to team up with Team Dakota in September for Dakota's birthday party fund raiser. We will be sponsoring some children with the funds that are raised.

Remember to come see our booth # 131 at Hunt County Trade Center, on Hwy 751 Quinlan. We have a lot of gently used things that have been donated. Proceeds go toward helping families with children with life threatening illnesses.

Grandpa's Reflections..............................................!

Having a child that's ill really takes its toll on a mom ,dad, grandma ,grandpa , the  whole family. I  know with Andrew it hit us hard and heavy , you ask how did we deal with it ? not very well at first , but as time went on it got easier. Acceptance was one of the keys , accepting that nothing happens in Gods world happens by mistake , things happen for a reason , its how we deal with the situation that makes the difference . Trust in God and follow his lead , lay all your burdens down at the feet of Jesus , and he will see you through and praise him for the out come no matter what . Keep in mind stay focused on the eternal not the temporal , eternity is forever and God promises us that we will see each other again in spirit. That's all for now , God Bless.
